“Did you fire a missile?” Enraged UAE completely cuts off Iran’s ‘last lifeline’

The UAE has announced a total suspension of all trade, commercial exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran until further notice, citing rising regional tensions.
This move is interpreted as a hardline retaliatory response following the launch of two ballistic missiles, presumed to be from Iran, targeting UAE maritime routes.
While the UAE emphasized its commitment to defending peace and the integrity of the international financial system, this is expected to deal an additional fatal blow to the already shrinking Iranian economy.
Iran has been suspected of procuring foreign currency through unofficial networks in Dubai, UAE, despite US maritime blockades and Western sanctions.
The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that the missiles fell into the sea and that full security readiness has been established, but Iran has denied the missile launches.
Given Iran's reliance on logistics and finance, the severance of trade with the UAE, which is geographically located at the gateway of the Persian Gulf, is observed to cause massive economic damage.
Although official trade was suspended after the outbreak of war this February, claims have been raised that billions of dollars in Iranian funds are deposited in the UAE.
